Truist Bank offers up to a 50% Loyalty Bonus based on a Truist deposit relationship. In other words, depending on the amount you have deposited with Truist, you can get up to 50% additional bonus on your card rewards. Truist offers a Loyalty bonus system for small businesses as well (which is explored in the latter half of the article). This is similar in nature to Bank of America’s Preferred Rewards program, which offers up to a 75% bonus on credit card points (see this writeup by FrequentMiler).
Loyalty Bonus on Personal Deposit
On the personal side of things, a loyalty bonus depends on the type of account you have with Truist.
Truist Dimension Checking account or Signature Advantage Checking account clients have three (3) tiers of loyalty bonuses:

The reason I am presenting “option 2” first is so is easy to explain the following table (we will use a similar table henceforth). The columns with % represent how much cashback you would get after including the boost you get from a loyalty bonus. For example, with a 50% loyalty bonus, a 1.5% everywhere earning card turns into a 2.25% cashback card (see last column).

75% Loyalty Bonus for the Rich?
6/18/2023 Update: After posting this article, I found that Truist offers a 75% Loyalty bonus on their Truist Wealth Card (link). This card has a $450 annual fee waived (first year waived), which can be waived for Wealth Clients (requires 1 million in assets with Truist). The baseline (and boosted value) for this card are as follows:
- 3% (5.25% after boost) on airline ticket, car rental or hotel lodging
- 3% (5.25% after boost) on restaurant
- 2% (3.5% after boost) on gas and electric vehicle charging
- 2% (3.5% after boost) on grocery store/supermarket
- 1% (1.75% after boost) elsewhere
Loyalty Bonus for Business
On the business side, Truist only offers three (3) tiers of loyalty bonuses:

Closing Thoughts
One of the highlights is probably earning a 1.5% card turning into a 2.25% card (with a 50 % loyalty bonus included), however, that is slightly dwarfed by Bank of America turning a 1.5% card into a 2.625% everywhere card (due to a 75% bonus from highest status, also requiring 100k in deposit).
