A while ago I wrote on Chase Shutdown of Player #2 – Number of Inquiries and Request for Credit and you may recall that Player #2 was took the situation rather well. Player #2 did not want to bother calling the number on the back of the card, contacting the Executive Office (EO) through a written CFBT complain was the only way to go, however as expected the CFBT complain and EO wasn’t of any help at all.
Gobble is a meal delivery service like Hello Fresh and whole bunch of similar services out there. Currently, they’re giving away first meal for free!
This week referral for Chase IHG Premier card came out. Since the discontinued Ink+ continues to generate Ink Preferred referral, I thought I would check to see if discontinued IHG card, with annual fee $49, generated referral for current IHG Premier….and it does!
A while ago Doctor of Credit wrote a post on Denizen banking app that is available nationwide, has limited time easy $100 signup bonus, has no monthly fees whatsoever, and does not do a hard pull. That should have been enough for me to signup on day one but for some reason I didn’t? Anyway, few weeks ago I thoroughly read up on Denizen, loved the gimmick of “global citizen”, and decided to dig deeper.
I don’t like asking people to donate me money. I don’t want to start a paid subscription either. I don’t like selling you cards. I’ll rarely talk about new cards and you’ll rarely find credit card referral links plastered within my blog posts. What I’m comfortable with is giving you the option to support this site for “free”. I’m comfortable with putting this post in featured section and that is more or less it.
Advertisements: Disable Ad-block
An excellent hassle free way of supporting this site is by disabling ad blocks on this site. The ads are not in your face. I don’t run popup ads. On a typical day I don’t make more than $1 through ads.
Yes I could pitch you far profitable things than those that make me less than $1/day but as I said before, I’m not comfortable with those things.
At the end of the year, revenue generated from ads should allow me to pay for renewal fee, site theme fee (if I choose to buy another), plug-in fees (if I choose to buy more), etc and that is more or less why it exists.
Amazon Affiliate Link
Using my amazon affiliate link to shop on amazon is an excellent way to support this site. You used to be able to earn 3x on Jetblue so I didn’t feel like advertising my affiliate link before. However, now that 3x on Jetblue is dead, supporting the site while shopping goods you want should not be a huge dilemma 😉
In order to properly use the affiliate link, first click on it, then search for the item you want to purchase, and finally purchase the item. If you want to help out the site a bunch, do consider booking the affiliate link.
Amazon, depending on the category, pays somewhere from 3-8% for purchases made through affiliate link.
Personal Credit Card Referrals
I don’t have credit card affiliate links and it is very very unlikely that I will ever get them for this site.
What I do have is personal referrals. That requires me to maintain good relationship with a bank and keep the credit card open which means I have to pay annual fee. On top of that, there is often a quota limit on referral generated on a card on a calendar basis – usually 5 referrals limit per card per calendar year.
All this means that I have limited set of cards that I can refer you to and doing so often has an annual fee cost attached to it. If you would consider using my referral link, I would appreciate it very much.
You can check full list of referral in the referral page but the most relevant (among the ones I have) and updated referrals can be found on the sidebar. Before you signup through the referral page, make sure it is the best offer possible!
Bank Referrals and RobinHood
Churning bank is a good way to earn a little bit of cash on the side but only a few of them have referral programs. I will not bother referring you to programs that have inferior referral benefit when you could signup via other means and earn more.
Simple Bank
$20 for both of us upon 1st purchase with your debit card
Allows MO deposits and that is one of the main reasons for joining Simple
Check this post for more ifno
Robinhood is an excellent way to meet direct deposit requirement of many banks which is why I suggest you join it. It also has no brokerage fee whatsoever. You can join through my referral and earn a free stock
Robinhood No Fee Online Brokerage
Both you and I get a free stock between $3 and $150.

Various Rebate Apps
There are a lot of rebate apps that provide a good deal of benefit for folks like us.
Dosh: Dosh almost always has $7 signup bonus distributed as: $5, +$1, and +$1 for connecting 1st, 2nd, and 3rd card respectively. You can think of Dosh as a mobile cash back portal.
Ride-Sharing
Please read this post on why not to use referrals for joining Uber. Since it is hard to get a hold of Amazing Lyft offer, I’ll might eventually leave my Lyft referral here.
Cash Back Portal Referrals
TopCashBack: is one of the top cash back portal out there 😉 I think you get $10 for signing up through my link.
Subscription Boxes Referrals and Affiliate Link
If you would like to check out subscription boxes (they’re awesome if you know what you’re doing) then consider using my referral or affiliate link. A referral link allows me to purchase same subscription in the future while an affiliate link often gives me small monetary commission. The monetary commission I get from affiliate link is as low as $0.01 (cough Movie Pass) and I think my current maximum is $15/sale.
Before you commit to a subscription box, I strongly recommend using a Virtual Account Number (VAN) to purchase your first box of each subscription you decide to try.
Box of Style by the Zoe Reports: Costs $99 per box and ships once a quarter. Occasionally has $25 off offer. Rarely has $30 off offer.
YogaClub: Often has 40% off deal. Probably is the best sub box of in its niche market.
LovewithFood: 40% deal is more or less always available and often the best deal. It is available simply by clicking the previously provided link.
MoviePass: You can get 1 month free by using a referral from an existing user. My affiliate link does not provide any benefit to you.
Sprezzabox: Subscription box for men’s accessories. You can read this review to get an idea of this sub box. BONUSBOX20 gets you two Sprezzabox for $20 which is a flat out steal.
If you have any question about them, you can contact me.
Comment, Chat, E-Mail, etc
One of my favorite thing about being a blogger is interacting with the readers. I make it a habit of responding to almost all the comments. I have responded to all e-mails inquires that have made it to my inbox. The amount of positive emails about the blog is higher than I thought it would ever be….so thank you for that. Believe it or not, positive vibes from readers helps a lot in creating new content.
I will open up a new chat room for readers soon and that will be another way for me to interact with you. It will be announced within next 1-3 week time frame.
Remember the post about RoomiPay Referral possibly being the greatest couch MS opportunity of 2018? Well, there is more where that came from. Remember how RoomiPay used to give 0% fee for initial 150 or so users? Back in December a recurring payment was setup and for many months since then, it continued to charge credit card at no fee whatsoever. First handwritten checks were sent, then came the printed checks, and finally the ACH payments. But looks like recurring payments did not translation over to the new verification system, or maybe folks at Roomi chose to all get rid of all recurring payments from half a year ago!
Everybody loves Ultimate Rewards from Chase and Membership Rewards from American Express but very few give Thank You points and Citi a thought. It may be because of their extensive anti-churning rules, lack of frequent signup bonuses, frequent devaluation of benefits, frequent changes to their points program, lack of referrals, and last but not least, bloggers not getting paid enough to create a buzz around Citi cards. Now to be fair, Citi has more or less stopped focusing on the points game for quite a while, nevertheless they still have some sweet spots left. Unfortunately, whatever benefits are leftover often gets buried under “Citi being Siti” jokes. To somewhat balance out the negativity, I present to you my public love letter to Citi and their Thank You program:
UPDATE: There is a $2 shipping cost/box associated with these vouchers. Typically they don’t charge so I did not think there would be a shipping cost. If you purchase 3-month plan, you’ll have to pay $6 total shipping cost.
Love With Food is a food subscription box. From the reviews I have read thus far, they seem to be leaning towards one of the better food subscription box. Yesterday, I purchased my first Love With Food and today I saw a fantastic deal…
Needless to say that “my $250 Trip to Aruba” title is going to get some eyebrows raised but the actual cost is a little less than that. Yes, our net cost included flight, hotel, food, etc. You probably would spend more but I’m frugal so I spend what I spend and you do you. Now, having said that, here is the detail:
