FutureCard is a debit card that rewards climate-friendly purchases.
Up to 6% Cashback
Their normal reward structure is as follows:
- 6% cashback at our FuturePartners (see list here) and
- 5% cashback on public transport, electric charging, bikes & scooters, renewed clothes, electronics & furniture and plant-based meat, dairy and eggs.
Cashback earned can be redeemed instantly for the balance on the card.
2.59% APY
Future is offering 2.59% APY on your FutureCard balance. Sure, you can get higher APY elsewhere (see 5% on Primis, 5% on One, etc) but it is rare to see a fintech debit card balance earn interest (for instance, Fold, a popular debit card among readers, does not offer APY on balance).
Double Cashback Promo (until August 4th at 3 PM EST)
Currently, they are running a double cashback promo (until August 4th, 3 PM EST), meaning the card is earning 10% cashback on all climate-friendly transit and thrift stores and 12% at select FuturePartners.
Referral Bonus
From time to time Future offers a referral bonus.
Get a $15 signup bonus when you join Future using the link and fund your Future account with at least $10 or more via a linked bank account.
It is suggested that you signup by clicking on the link while on your mobile. Doing so while on a desktop and providing a phone number does not seem to track for some people.

Closing Thoughts
To me, the card is attractive because of the 5% cashback on public transportation but if you have an electric vehicle then 5% on electric charging may also be attractive. And of course, it comes with 1% base cashback, which is also nice.
They also have “missions” where they reward you FutureCoins (read their description here) for completing some missions. For example, they seem to reward people for trading their gasoline car to an electric car but it is not obvious how much reward is paid on a daily basis.
