American Express Platinum has a temporary monthly $30 PayPal credit. The credit is supposed to reset each month but it looks like it hasn’t.
As you can see in the screenshot above, in the month of January let $30-$29.65 = $0.35 PayPal credit expire. Then I charged enough to trigger $30 February PayPal credit but to my surprise I was only credited $0.35.
Now here’s the interesting bit – I have other Platinum cards where I made similar charges on Feb 1st and none of them have seen any credit. This is likely because none of them had any unused credit on January.
So what is happening? It looks like Amex might have forgotten to reset the monthly PayPal credit altogether.
This could potentially mean that you can still burn your January credit. Obviously there is a risk of eventual claw back of January credit that get burned in February but if you have something you need to purchase anyway then it is worth a try.

I hope Amex fixes this before I cancel my cards within next few days.
