Today, May 16, 2024, Frontier introduced some updates to the booking system. This has made the “basic fare” of GoWild tickets unbookable online. See the screenshot of what the new booking interface looks like.
You can, however, book GoWild tickets at any other price but the “basic fare”. In other words, you can pay $30, $50, or $100 extra to book an “economy bundle”, “premium bundle” or “business bundle” and your purchase will go through fine. So, one current workaround to the existing glitch is to pay more and then ask for compensation later.
The alternative option is to call Frontier. If you have elite status, you can call them anytime. Yes, the call center agents can book GoWild tickets. Yes, they can book the basic fare for you over the phone.
Closing Thoughts
The new booking interface (in particular the bundles) seems like a net positive. Maybe Frontier has slightly improved its odds of filling the first two rows now 🙂
I suspect this glitch may have opened tickets that normally wouldn’t be available for GoWild tickets. This might have been the underlying reason for the glitch/error. I was seeing way more GoWild availability than usual for a Friday booking.
