A few days news broke out that T-Mobile is set to acquire Mint mobile for up to $1.35 billion (mint, NYT). Most people in r/mintmobile don’t see it as a pro-consumer move (see this thread) and I don’t either.
Mint’s $15/month plan is pretty attractive and that’s the yearly plan I am on. You can also easily top off a monthly $10 credit from an American Express Business Platinum card which makes the whole thing even cheaper. They also run pretty good phone deals like the recent $500+ discount on Google Pixel 7 which received a great reception in slickdeals. You can also check other deals they ran on this slickdeals search feed.
The current new customer offer is shown in the screenshot below (with the lowest deal being a $15/month line). If you are interested, please consider using the referral link below.

Then you look over at T-Mobile and their deals have consistently been shittier (for anyone who isn’t paying the ridiculous magenta max line). Of course, Wireless Advocates going out of business overnight didn’t help either as T-Mobile deals that ran through Costco were one of the few remaining decent T-Mobile deals. So, what do I expect? Nothing good. All around less competition. Fewer deals. They may even do away with the $15 plan eventually. Heck, Mint Mobile itself may eventually cease to exist.
