Some 15+ Credit Card Approvals – Learning From Denials #6

The learning from denial series continues on as I bring you another set of apps. In a typical TiP fashion, I’m writing a post on something that happened several months prior. I can’t remember all the details of it so you’ll have to excuse me for the lack of details. Anyway, here we go:

Citi AA Biz

More AA miles never hurt anybody.

Amex Gold

It took a while but eventually someone offered me a referral to no lifetime Amex Gold. At that time I had more or less given up on finding one.

Amex Platinum x 2

Grabbed two no lifetime ones. We shall see…

Ameriprise Platinum

I have had it before and grabbed one again. It’s funny how triple dip, plus other benefit, makes this card with virtually no signup bonus, better than a lot of other cards out there with signup bonus.

American Express Starwood

It was pretty easy to find no lifetime language referral on these. I was conflicted between this and Hilton card with no lifetime language (I couldn’t get both dude to 2/90) and eventually chose to go with this.

Capital One Venture

Instant approved with 20k credit limit. I guess it helped that I had somewhat large utilization at the time. The card number is so hard to see on this card, especially on low light.

American Express Schwab Platinum

Yeah I’ve had it before and no I’m not getting a SUB this time around but triple dip and other benefit makes it somewhat worth it.

Penfed Pathfinder

Instant approved. Then they ask for paystub, which I submit, but somehow they read my paystubs wrong and ended up denying me the card. I emailed them asking them to reread my paystubs and was approved with 1/5 of credit limit they had initially approved me.

Unnamed Half a Dozen Approvals

I’ve had some other approvals that I’m not going to explicitly state. Probably over half a dozen unnamed approvals.

Lots of Denials

I got denied for Chase Disney card….yeap, it’s under 5/24!

I also got denied for Capital One Spark.

Also something from US Bank.

BoA Virgin too. RIP Necker Island dream.

Almost forgot Barclay Choice.

Speaking of low-end hotels, got denied for best western cards from FNBO. Probably tried to tap both business and personal. I’ve lost count of the # of times they’ve denied me these cards lol. Unlike the big blogs who don’t even consider these low-end hotel cards, I actually want them dammit!

Got a popup on Chase Marriott Biz…no thanks!

In between last learning from denial post #5 to the time of writing this post, I’ve been denied for some of the above mentioned cards twice…hehe.
