You are probably aware that Albert is offering $500 signup bonus. Doctor of Credit has a post on it which you can read but here is a brief summary of requirement to get the signup bonus:
Neobank Albert is offering a referral bonus of $150 to both parties. The person signing up for an account needs to complete the following requirements:
- Direct Deposit $200+ every 30 days for 90 consecutive days [cheat sheet from DoC]
- Spend $100+ on goods or services with the debit card every 30 days for 90 consecutive day
But before you do that, you need to find someone who has $500 signup offer link. However, that seems to be an easy thing to do. I personally signed up earlier today from a referral link shared by a user in Travel in Points Telegram. Then I signed up a few friends and family members and I noticed that most of them got $500 referral link of their own. Even those who could not generate $500 referral link of their own (they initially got $150 referral link), eventually got $500 referral link of their own within a few hours.
So, yes, $500 referral links are everywhere. You can ask me for one on Telegram or via email (use contact tab above).
Once you signup, I strongly recommend signing up family members to it asap. There is no way this deal is going to last.
If you are able to generate $500 referral (for both parties) then you should see something like the first screenshot below. The terms and conditions are displayed in the next two screenshots.
Keep in mind that you can earn up to $1,500 through referral. So, after 3 referrals you should look to signup other people through your SO, mom, cat, etc.
Couple of notes during the signup process:
- Sometimes during the signup process we could tell what the signup bonus was while other times it wasn’t even mentioned.
- Sometimes we saw the inviters name, other times we didn’t.
- Be very careful when entering information. I typoed my name during signup process (how exciting?) and my verification failed. I edited the typo but that went nowhere. I ended up closing the account and reopening another (their support is super fast).
- Other than the case where I typoed stuff, no ID was required.
- You don’t need to connect a bank account.
- To my knowledge you don’t need to signup for Genesis feature (first month free).
Oh and their debit card has decent cashback deals on few merchants. It seems the discount is valid in one order per week?
Store | % Discount | Max Discount | Minimum Spend |
Whole Foods | 20% | $5 | $2 |
McDonald | 5% (15% with DD) | $5 | $2 |
Etsy | 15% | $7.5 | $2 |

Closing Remarks
I strongly encourage you to take screenshots. $1000 is a hell of a customer acquisition cost and I am not sure if they will be willing to pay this all the way through, especially if this deal blows up super hard.
