The regular readers of this blog probably have guessed by now that I don’t apply for cards like I used to. Why? Not one reason in particular but rather several. It was the combination of being super busy, focusing on other prospects/hobbies, pandemic making travel cards less appealing, and obviously the desire to be an under 5/24 rookie again.
But the plan has been halted because of 100k signup bonus applications. I was qualified for American Express SUB again so it seemed like a no brainer. The 10x bonus on grocery spend (for a total of $15k over 6 months) was a nice touch. I also got me a new Gold card approved.
Then there was the 100k Jetblue card for Barclay. I was instantly approved for it as well. Applying for Barclay card after an extended hiatus seems to continue to work. Why Jetblue of all things? All I saw was 100k and a possibility of an easy instant approval from Barclay.
So, overall my 5/24 timeline as been pushed back further by a few months. I might blog about my Chase card applications then. That should be interesting.
Oh and Citi still won’t play cards with me. I am not sure if keeping a saving account with them serves any purpose. At this point, I might as well close that and open it later for some SUB.
