HURRY UP? Denizen Founder Membership, $100 Bonus, and Referral Bonus

A while ago Doctor of Credit wrote a post on Denizen banking app that is available nationwide, has limited time easy $100 signup bonus, has no monthly fees whatsoever, and does not do a hard pull. When I contacted Denizen, I was told that “regular [i.e. not founding] members will have different conditions with less benefits to be announced later”.

Between Charles Schwab and Fidelity, you’re probably covered on no ATM fees whatsoever, but it doesn’t hurt to have a third option, does it?

Generally, we are able to stop fees [for using an ATM machine] from ever hitting your account. In some cases, cash machine providers charge a separate fee for using their terminal. Both parties get referral bonus for using a Denizen referral.  I have been told that the referral bonus is a Denizen t-shirt. In order to qualify one simply needs to use a referral link and fund their Denizen account with $1 or more.

Limited Time $100 Bonus

For a limited time, Denizen will “automatically match your first deposit of $100 or more with $100”. The actual requirement requires you to do a little more more but the requirements are fairly easy:

• open a new Denizen account, which is subject to approval
• deposit $100 or more on first deposit.. You can receive only one new Denizen account related bonus each calendar year and only one bonus per account.
• activate your denizen debit card within 60 days of account opening
• keep an average balance of $100 or more for 60 days from opening the account
• make three (3) or more transactions of $5 or more within 90 says.

Why the Need to Hurry?

Even though they claim to get your account opened within 36-48 hours, it actually takes several weeks. Plenty of people got their account opened in about 4 weeks time frame. Also, they may also review your account 1-2 week later and ask you to re-shoot the video.

If you don’t want to deal with the hassle of doing things at the last moment, then this is as good of a time as any to apply for Denizen.

The Catch

There isn’t much except you’ll need to take a short video of yourself and your passport. It is understandably since Denizen is dealing with accounts from several countries.
