On December 1st, Frontier Airlines announced a new status match program that is valid until December 31, 2022. It was offering an excellent status match from Hotel loyalty program but as of today this match is no more.
I don’t want to recap the whole status match program but for those who are unfamiliar with it you can learn all the current status match by reading the tables in their FAQ and you can read about the perks of Frontier’s loyalty program by reading this table on their official site or reading the image provided below. Alternatively, if you prefer to read it on a blog, then OMAAT has a fairly nice writeup on the ongoing status match offer.

The big thing was that you could easily get top status with Frontier, called Elite 100k, by just status matching some of the top loyalty program of hotels. Since it is super easy to get Hilton Diamond (hello Hilton Aspire), getting matched to Elite 100k was a piece of cake. But as of today, December 7th, the highest status with Frontier you can get through hotel status is their second best status, called Elite 50k.
The big deal is that Elite 100k provided “discounted den membership” (read about it in Frontier’s website) for free, had 1.5x mileage multiplier, had free checked bag, and came with family status. Elite 50k isn’t too terrible as it still comes with various other benefits like free carry-on, seat assignment, stretch seating, and more, but it clearly isn’t Elite 100k.
Closing Thoughts
Why do these program provide status match only to change it in 7 day period? I was trying to get this match for a family member but obvious there is much demand, even though the status match itself has a $49 application fee.
