Today as I was logging into Citi website, I landed into a referral promotion page for Double Cash and when I dug further I noticed referral bonuses on more Citi cards!
In their typical “Citi being Citi” fashion, Citi had offered me referral bonus for a card I don’t even have. Many many months ago I had product changed Citi Double Cash into Dividend card.
I wanted to check if other cards have referral bonuses as well and sure enough I saw two offers at the bottom of the main logged in page – they were for $100 for Double Cash and 10,000 ThankYou points for Premier. As I clicked on “more offers”, I crossed fingers and hoped that more cards were eligible for referral offers and sure enough Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite Mastercard has referral bonus of 10,000 miles.
Closing Thoughts
It will be interesting to see what referral bonus will be offered on Citi Prestige, when/if it should come back.
As I said before I don’t have a Double Cash so I would be interested to know if Dividend currently generates referral for Double Cash. It probably was a glitch in Citi’s part but nevertheless its something to look forward to.
Lastly, I am curious to know how this will impact regular churners recommendation of credit cards. Will Double Cash be mentioned more frequently with the likes of Discover IT and Freedom cards? Will r/churning’s card recommending thread see an out of the blue surplus on Citi Premier recommendations? I’m also curious to know if Citi bumped Credit card sales bonus for bloggers…if every blog is filled with Citi stuff in next few weeks then you know what happened.
