I got 5000 points offer on my Radisson Rewards Business card once again, just around my renewal of the card. Last year I had received the same offer, around the same time, and I had blogged about it here. In some ways this might be a retention offer.
Once you spend $2,000 in net purchases during the promotion period, additional net purchases will earn 3 bonus points per dollar spend (up to 5,000 points).
Closing Thoughts
At a quick look, this is a pretty lousy offer because you’ve to spend dollar (2000) to get the offer activated and then you’ve to spend additional dollar (1666.67) again to maximize the offer.
But if you can afford to make the spend, you could think about it as spending net $3666.67 and earning 5,000 additional points. Remember that this card earns 5x points on all spend, so for a spend of $3666.67 you would be earning net 23333 points. If you conservatively value RR points at 0.4 cpp then you’re getting ~2.55% back of your spend.
Now, if you’re planning on making $10k spend for free night certificates (and points) then it definitely doesn’t hurt to pickup 5k extra poins along the way.
