UPDATE: from a different dealer “We are currently offering $400 for the $1 American Silver Eagle and $6K for the American Gold Eagle. Please call us at the shop and ask to speak with a trader if you have further questions regarding the end of World War II 75th Anniversary Coins.”
On November 5th, 12:00 PM ET US Mint will release two limited edition coins namely:
- End of World War II 75th Anniversary American Eagle Silver Proof Coin (direct link) [Product Limit: 75,000]
- End of World War II 75th Anniversary American Eagle Gold Proof Coin (direct link) [Product Limit: 1945]
We’ve already seen $100+ and $500+ offer on these coins respectively from the usual buying groups. And these groups are notorious for almost always lowballing coin deals so think how much more there is to be made. Point being, there is much more money to be made if you can grab these coins and work a little extra.
Here is what a long time coin dealer told me ” I am unsure what premiums will be once they are released, but it looks like the Silver will be $200-250 over issue price and the Gold will be $2500-3000 over issue price, but they will change leading up to the issue and even after issue.”
I don’t want to mention who specifically but for long time readers and chat dwellers, here is a hint – it’s the same one myself and some readers dealt with 1-2 years ago, and at that time they had the best deal. Obviously, you’ll likely get a better deal if you sell on your own.
I fully expect several dealers to make offers in the coming days. As usual, I likely won’t bother updating this post as the story develops. We’re discussing more or less all deals associated with these coins in the same place as usual.
