3/1/2024 Update: Yesterday, February 29, 2024, the death of CauseCard and PrideCard was announced. This also ends the tiny possibility of 0.85% earning DogeCard coming back. CauseCard and PrideCard will earn a 0% reward starting March 4, 2024, and these cards will be closed on March 31, 2024. See details below.
1/13/2024 Update: On December 22, 2023, it was announced that users have two virtual cards with a 10k monthly limit. I see 2 virtual cards in one account and 3 in another account of mine. So, this means these cards have a monthly limit of 20-30k. Today, 1/13/2024, it was announced that starting on January 15, 2024, PayPal Bill Pay and all MCC 6012 (Financial Institutions) will earn 0.4% cashback. All other purchases will continue to earn 0.75%.
11/23/2023 Update: The new banking partner is Lewis & Clark Bank. Debit card funding is no more (RIP double dipping). There is a monthly spend limit of $10k/account. So, this should mean a 20k limit when both cards are combined.
10/12/2023 Update: A massive correction from the previous update – both CauseCard and PrideCard continue to work. This was also confirmed with their support team. With DogeCard being unavailable and Fold going through massive nerf (for instance, a particular transaction now only earns 0.5% cashback in crypto), CauseCard and PrideCard may be something to look at.
9/1/2023 Update: Both CauseCard and PrideCard, along with DogeCard, are changing banks. The existing card and bank account, issued via Evolve Bank & Trust, will be closed on September 30th. I was going to wait until a new banking partner was announced but I thought I would update this post now since Fold is going through a huge nerf on September 12.
Not too long ago Doge debit card was blogged about and if you poked around you may have noticed that the same company (Liquidity Financial) provides two additional debit cards, namely PrideCard and CauseCard. DogeCard gives 0.85% cashback in the form of Doge, a popular cryptocurrency, but if you don’t want to deal with crypto, then you can choose 0.75% flat cashback through CauseCard or PrideCard.
The system behind CauseCard and PrideCard are identical to that of DogeCard. This is a good thing since, in my opinion, DogeCard has one of the best crypto card apps. The cashback you earn on CauseCard and PrideCard will instantly be deposited to your existing balance.
Charity
CauseCard and PrideCard can be set up so that the cashback earned from these cards is automatically donated to a charity of your choosing. The choices for charity on the PrideCard are few (which is expected) but CauseCard includes LGBT charities that are available in PrideCard and much more (climate, immigration, body health, etc). The donations are said to be tax deductible.
Obviously, this is not the reason 99.99% of the readers will get this card but since charity is a feature of this card, it made sense to go over it briefly.
Referral
Their referral bonus can come in a form of a donation in your name.
“Send your invite link to a friend, and we will match their donation for the first 60 days, or up to ($15 for Pride, and $20 for Cause). This tax deductive donation is in your name”.

Closing Thoughts
We know that Fold card gives around 1% cashback in the form of Bitcoin but that requires a paid membership. We know that DogeCard gives 0.85% but that is still crypto. So, if you don’t want to deal with crypto at all, then 0.75% cashback is not too terrible.

Any decent alternatives for PPBP? My favorites have been successively killed—Coinbase, M1, and now this.
Fold is an alternative but yeah it sucks that this is devaluated so much.
They’re killing both now. Just got the following email, with a nearly identical one for Pride Card.

And now cause card is shutting down. Any alternatives for cash back with PayPal?
Among the one in public eye, Fold. I have a blog post somewhere. It is ok.
