Citi Price Rewind is my favorite purchase protection but it will soon go through massive negative changes.
Starting July 29, 2018 the following changes will be made to the price rewind:
- The maximum benefit per item has been lowered to $200 (current $500)
- The maximum benefit per calendar year per account has been lowered to $1000 (current $2,500)
You can checkout further details on this Citi page.
Overall Thought
This change will barely impact most people but I am a little saddened by it.
A huge chunk of my internet purchase, including those on Amazon, went through Citi AT&T Access More card….and it kinda sucks knowing that the my total price rewinds will be capped at $1000 per year. On paper $1000 sounds a lot but large price rewinds can happen on electronic items.
Also, I will have to be careful with how I burn $1000 annual cap. No more shenanigans like seeing a sale on non-Amazon site but purchasing the item through Amazon anyway because Citi price rewind was a bae >.<
